Vitals: Born in small town Nebraska in 1959 – a Cornhusker through and through! The third of four children.

Family: Married to my wife Tammy  for 29 years.  God has blessed our home with four children: Nate (San Diego); Ben (Senior at Cal Baptist in Riverside, CA); Natalie (Freshman at Northern Arizona U); Clint (Senior at Payson High).

When did you come to know Jesus Christ? When I was 16 years old at a  youth camp the summer before my senior year in High School.

How did you first start coming to MBC?  Led from the West Coast to the Rim Country to take the Lead Pastor role in March of 2010. 

What do you love most about working for MBC? A spirit of joy and freedom in Christ abounds all across our campus and throughout our many ministries.

Who is the most influential person in your life? I consider Dr. Gene Getz my father in the ministry, but also  have surrounded myself by several other key mentors.


What inspires you? Authentic, ongoing transformation in the lives of young believers.  Hearts of humility and grace in the lives of mature believers.


Any Hidden Talents? Playing guitar; gardening; writing.

Life Long Goal: For my life and ministry to make God smile on a daily basis.

Little Known Fact About Me: I participated on two National Championship basketball teams (NCCAA/National Christian College Athletic Association)

Book (other than the Bible): Seven Habits of Highly Effective People – Stephen Covey.

Movie: What About Bob? (Bill Murray; Richard Dreyfuss)

Restaurant: Red Lobster

Food: Homemade stew with lean meat and fresh garden veggies.

Ice Cream: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk

Drink @ Starbucks: Decaf Americano with three pumps of toffee nut.

Junk Food: Taco Bell (whether the meat’s real or not!)

Song: Lay Your Burden Down – Chuck Girard (Golden Oldie!)

Childhood Memory: Heading to Colorado for vacation and seeing the silhouette of the mountains forming in the distance!

Sport:  Basketball  (Can you say March Madness?) Tennis runs a close second.
