Penny for your thought!
Our God is
HUGE! Is there anyone that can say "AMEN?" I
continue to see His grace and abounding love. I witnessed him bring a
family of 5, sleeping in a tent along the river, and put a roof over
their head. This family wasn't living day to day, but hour to
hour. I will pray for the wisdom to help this young Mom with
so many areas of her life. I find myself wanting to charge ahead instead
of waiting on God or going slow and showing nothing but Love. Is anyone
with me? Did you ever want to help someone by changing them, instead of
letting God change them? If you have the opportunity to help someone - do
it without correction, but with Love - yes, I am talking to me, can't you
tell? I adore Jesus when he said "and secondly, Love Your Neighbor
as Yourself."

Jovial Jokes from Jana
In honor of some of our Kingdom Builders!
When the doctor asked Chuck about what he did yesterday, he
told him about his day: "Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded across
the edge of a lake, escaped from a mountain lion in the heavy brush,
marched up and down a mountain, stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawled
out of quicksand, and jumped away from an aggressive rattlesnake."
Inspired by his story, the doctor exclaimed, "Chuck,
you must be an awesome outdoorsman!"
"No," Chuck replied, "I'm just a lousy
golfer."

What is it like to be at the top of the world, only
to wake up one day to find yourself firmly entrenched on the bottom;
fortunes terribly reversed - or seemingly so. What is it like, in
such a chasm of confusion, for God to show up and instruct us to don
our hiking gear and head back toward the 'summit ' - only this time, on
His terms. Welcome to the life of Moses. By anyone's
standards, Moses had it all. However, in the most unlikely turn
of events imaginable, this slave child found himself third from the
throne of the most powerful nation on the planet - Egypt. Within
forty years, the aspiring Prince found himself homeless; swatting flies
and steering sheep in the searing desert sun. Moses had to wonder, as
he wandered through the barren wasteland of the Negev, what God could
possibly be doing with and in his life. Have you ever wondered,
as you've wandered?
In our fall series, we will dig deep into the remarkable life and
ministry of this giant of Old Testament scripture - warts and
all. We will be moved by Moses life dilemmas (some self-induced),
encouraged by Moses glaring 'fallenness', and challenged by Moses
resilient courage as He humbly learned to allow God to steer the ship
of his life. Is there life after the desert experiences? There
certainly was for Moses...and there is for us as well; on God's
terms. In preparation for our new Sovereignty Series starting
October 16th, let me encourage you to read the first fifteen
chapters of the book of Exodus. I'm praying that God will prepare
your heart for your greatest Biblical adventure yet!

Neighbors
invited to Harvest
Block Party at
Mountain Bible!
Last year our Festival of Booths was a great
success. Many people came with their families and had a time of
fun and building relationships. This year we have changed the
name to Harvest Block Party. The reason for this is to include
the neighbors around the Church. We want to build relationships
with families around us and invite them to this event and future
events. It is also a safe alternative to Halloween.
My prayer is that God will use these events to get them to Church
and be reached for Christ. You can be a part of this! On
Saturday October 22, we will be meeting at the Church at 10:00am in the
foyer of the Worship Center. We will pray and then go out and
invite our neighbors. Pastor Kraig will assign you streets to
canvass.
Sandy Navarro is putting together some prayer times
prior to this event. Thursday October 20, at 6:30 we will meet in
building D to worship and pray for our neighborhood. Come and be
a part as God uses us to move out to reach families. If you would
like to sign up to pass out invitations sign up in the kiosk, October 9
and 16th. For more info contact Pastor Kraig
Work together with your Sunday School Class, your Connection
Group, your Bible Study Group and come up with an idea to add to this
year's Harvest Block Party. Schedule your booth or your idea with
