Mission's Corner
Pray for Roger and Pat
Kortman as they go to visit the Ukraine this month and our
missionaries Tom and Lena Navaro wrote:
We are
looking forward to seeing you all! As for as news we have just been
getting settled working on the house here; just keep us in your
prayers. I have joined Dan in a new believers Bible study
and witnessing to the guys in a club in a village next to us. Pray
for the young men to have the strength to stand up for
Jesus against their peers. We have 3 guys that have been
coming and they have a desire to learn about God so it's a start. So
pray for the ministry there. also we plan on building or remodeling
soon so I will be working and hoping to have some of the young
students and other young men working with me and we pray this will be
an opportunity to rub off on these guys and build relationships for
God. We are also praying about possibly starting a youth center like
a "hang out" coffee house type of thing in the
Center. It would be a "hang out" place for the
Christians and an outreach for the non- believers. It's still in the
works, nothing certain yet but we hope to buy a place in the center
somewhere. I think the church has most of the finances for
this but keep it in your prayers. See you soon; we send our
greetings.
In Christ

Mountain Bible Church needs a NEW Directory with pictures! If you call MBC your home
church, we want you and your family in the directory! (You do
not have to be a member to be included.) It will help us put
faces with names, connecting our MBC family. Our new pastor
will also appreciate the tool, as he gets to know us.
Here's how it works:
Lifetouch is coming to take pictures of each
family. Each family will receive a Complimentary 8x10 portrait
and color directory. (They will try to sell you other
portraits; you can buy them if you are interested, but NO
PRESSURE! You do NOT have to buy anything!!!)
Your family will sign up on Sunday mornings, beginning on January
25th, or on the MBC web site, for a
one hour photo session. (No cost!!!) After we get all of
our pictures taken, we will create the directory, and they will
arrive in about two months.
The Photo
Dates are:
February
18, 19, 20 ~ between 2:00 & 9:00 pm
Saturday, February 21 ~ 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
February
24, 25 ~ between 2:00 & 9:00 pm
During your one hour session, you will get your
portrait taken, and then immediately look at the different poses,
picking one for your free 8x10 and for the directory. That is
when they will give you the opportunity to buy more; you can take
advantage of the professional photography, or decline, either way is
fine.
We are excited about this new directory!!! It will help us so
much!
Questions?
Call Jana in the MBC office 472-7800.

Mountain Bible Church Library
We invite you to
use our newly organized library. There are well over 1000 books
and videos. Come in and we'll introduce you to references that
include maps and photos of the Holy Land. Enjoy reading?
Browse our literature section; fiction and non-fiction. Want to
learn some coping skills for marriage, dating, parenting, surviving
teen years and just being part of a family? We have that
too! There's an extensive selection of books that deal with
Christian Living. And, of course, we have Bibles in many
translations; commentaries galore, dictionaries, encyclopedia,
concordances, and even books dealing with Biblical Hebrew and Greek
word meanings (want to know what "fear" means in some
Biblical passages - you can delve into that). We have
biographies and autobiographies of Christian men and women. There is
a section that deals with illness, disability, recovery and healing
including bipolar disorder references. Are you looking for
Bible studies or books dealing with prayer and meditation?
You've come to the right place.
WE ARE USER FRIENDLY! No library cards, no limitations on how
long you can use a book and NO FINES!
Many of the AV materials are in VHS format. A small TV with an
integrated VHS player has been donated for your use in the
library. With comfortable chairs, a sofa and CD player you can
read, watch or listen in comfort.
YOU CAN DONATE books. Please drop them off at the office.
Do you have a CASSETTE PLAYER that you don't need? We have many
audio tapes but there is no way to use them.
FINALLY: FREE, FREE, FREE BOOKS: During the month of
February there will be a table in the library with free books.
You are invited to browse and take as many as you want. Books left
over at the end of the month will be donated to the Payson Library.
