Dear Joel,
Yes,
it has been one year since we started this experiment with
constant contact and putting out a monthly newsletter to help improve
the communication around Mountain Bible Church. Do you feel
better informed? How can we improve on this process? What
can we include to help you know what's going on around MBC?

Christmas Sunday, December 20th
A
message to refresh us and focus us on the real meaning of Christmas -
the "WHY?", "HOW?" and "SO WHAT?"of
Christmas. Plus, we will be singing the Christmas songs we love
so much, and singing them the Mountain Bible way.
New Years
Sunday, December 27th
A
great Sunday to look forward to the New Year and consider how you
will interact with God's Word each day. Read Psalm 119:33-48 in
preparation for this special Sunday.
One Year
Bibles
will be available to purchase for $10 each, at the Kiosk and in the
office December 13th and following. This year, we ordered God
Sightings: The One Year Bible NLT.
Bible Description: Learn to experience God everyday with God
Sightings: The One Year Bible. You'll find that as you see God at
work in Scripture, you'll recognize Him at work in your own life and
in the world around you. Millions of people have benefited from
reading through God's entire Word by using The One Year Bible. You
can too! Today's best-selling daily reading Bible divides the text
into 365 sections, so you can read through the entire Bible in one
unforgettable year-in as little as 20 minutes a day.
· Unique Design: Each 20-minute
daily reading includes a portion from the Old Testament, the New
Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. This arrangement of Scripture brings
variety and a fresh approach to each day's reading, while providing a
clearer understanding of the Bible's larger message.
· Highlighted Scriptures: Each
day's reading contains a highlighted passage to help you focus on a
key verse every day.
· Variety of Applications: The
One Year Bible is ideal for personal devotions and instructional
reading. It is also perfect for family Bible reading with children of
all ages.
GOD SIGHTINGS:
ONE YEAR COMPANION GUIDE:
Also available for $7 each is a Companion Guide: The One Year Bible
can be used alone or for maximum benefit with companion guide, which
includes reflection questions, space to record God-sightings, and room
for general journaling. Perfect for use in small groups.

Adventure
Land!
Merry
Christmas from Adventure Land! We are very excited about our
upcoming Christmas Musical, Angels We Have Heard on High. The
performance is Sunday
night; Dec. 13th, 6:00 pm in the Worship
Center.
Watching the kids grow as we have been practicing has been such a
blessing. Christie Varner, our Director, begins with prayer
each week, and is always explaining what Christmas is about and how
the kids are teaching others by participating in the play.
Christie's son, Jared Varner, is leading the Drama. It has been
fun watching Jared and the kids grow together. He is doing a
great job. As far as the Dancing goes, we have had a special
treat this year with Stephanie Disilvestro teaching the dance
parts. She is an accomplished ballet dancer. The girls
seem to love her, and are learning a lot.
Felicia Moore has been her faithful self, as usual, directing the
choreography. Dave Yoder has been helping with music and
directing traffic and keeping the kids safe and secure. And
last but not least, is Joel Wilson; behind the scenes, working his
magic in the sound booth.
It takes a lot of work to put a Christmas Musical together, and I
would like to thank each one of these people for their commitment to
the kids of MBC, and their families for their sacrifice.

Student
Ministries
Welcome
Chris Barr to the Mountain Bible staff!!! Chris and his wife Dani
have been helping me with the Junior High Ministry for three years
now. Chris has been teaching the Junior High for the past year as I
have been focusing on the High School Ministry. He has done an
amazing job and the kids love him!! So as of now, Chris Barr is the
leader of the Junior High Ministry.
Starting Wednesday December 2nd, both High School Impact and Junior
High Livewire will be meeting on Wednesday nights at the same time
from 7:00-8:30 pm. The reason for this is that I, Joe
Sanchez, am coaching Basketball for the High school and we have
a game every Tuesday night. The way it will work is that we will be
meeting together for Worship and then breakoff into two separate
rooms where I will be teaching the High School and Chris will be
teaching the Junior High. My staff and I think this will be very
effective as we would have a huge group Worshiping together and still
have a separate teaching time. We are challenging the High school
students to be the examples, and hopefully mentoring some Junior high
students.
Both Impact and Livewire will be having their gift exchange on
Wednesday December 16th. Both Impact and Livewire will not be meeting
on December 23rd and December 30th.
If there is any one in need of work around the house, we have many
students willing to do the work to earn money for scholarships for
camp.
Questions,
call Joe 602-448-0174.
Junior High
Winter Camp is January 8-10. Cost is $115.
High School
Winter Camp is February 12-15. Cost is $155.

Note from
Craig Matthews
The
pulpit search team continues to receive good contacts. However,
it has been a few months since we have had a relationship with a
pastor that has gone beyond the very early stages. Of course,
God already knows who that next man will be and we can trust Him and
His timing. If we ever become weary with the search
process, all we need to do is look around and see all the exciting
things happening and the wonderful people worshiping at Mountain
Bible Church and our souls will certainly be renewed! God has
continued to pour out blessings on Mountain Bible Church through
ministries old and new and for that we must certainly be
thankful.

Year
End Tax Planning
Just
a note from Penny in regards to end of year tax planning. If
you have changed your address during the year please update Penny so
that Giving Statements will not get lost. Remember, if you are
donating by "Cash" and would like us to keep track of that,
simply put your cash in an envelope with your name (and address if
new) and we'll keep track of that for you. Our office
will be open until 1:00 pm ½ day on December 31st to allow you to
bring in your donation and still have it counted for 2009. If
you would like to donate to a special cause, i.e., (Benevolent Fund,
Building Fund, Monday Night Dinner's Fund), etc. you don't have to
write two checks. Put the amount and where in your memo of your
check. It's that easy.
SCHOOL TAX CREDIT - Arizona taxpayers may donate up to $400 ($400
Joint, $200 Single) to Payson public schools for the extracurricular
activities of their choice and take a dollar-for-dollar credit off
their Arizona state income tax liability. The Credit for Kids
donation may also count as a tax-deductible donation on the federal
tax return. Please see your tax professional for more information.
You can donate to a private school like Payson Christian
School ($1,000 Joint, $500 Single). In addition there is also a
huge list of charitable Organizations that you can do the same Arizona
tax credit with ($400 joint, $200 Single) that provide assistance to
the working poor. An example of one of those organizations
is Payson Christian Clinic. We have forms in the office
for all three. YOU CAN DONATE TO ALL THREE. For more information
go to azdor.gov and click on "Tax Credits". This is
an amazing opportunity to support our schools and organizations right
her in Payson and have it come right off of our tax return.
These donations must be done prior to December 31st to be counted on
your 2009 tax return.

Thank all of you who helped decorate the buildings
yesterday for the Christmas season. The many events this week
and through the month to come are truly blessed!
And thank you to all of the construction workers, many
who have donated their time, to complete the Ramada. We are
looking forward to using this new addition maybe as early as the New
Years Eve Service. Your skills and backbreaking efforts
are appreciated!!!
