Dean Borgman
Last month, Scott Nossek shared with you some of
the activities that go on at our weekly 6:00am Thursday
meetings. You may recall from that column, one of the
things to which we devote a significant amount of our meeting
time is prayer. It is an honor, privilege and
joy to spend time every week in prayer together with this group
of godly men. As pastor Larry has reminded us, when we
pray we both "ask", and give "thanks"----and
we have much to be thankful for at Mountain Bible.
Consider the many exciting ministries that are at work at MBC,
and the faithful people who are involved through their
participation and leadership in these ministry
areas---Connection groups (several),
Love and Respect classes, Community dinner, Women's
Ministries,
Junior and Senior High ministry, Kids Club as
well as all the other Children's ministries,
Crown Ministries, La Roca,
Men's Breakfast, and the list goes on. Led by
Pastor Larry, we have a dedicated and able staff who lead
and help support in all of these areas. The Elder Board is very
thankful for all involved, and we offer our thanks to God for all of
you. And while the Elders offer our prayers of thanks and
supplication for each of these ministry areas, we ask for your
continuing prayers for us as well. We desire to serve our
Lord, and all of MBC well and we need your prayerful support for that
to happen.

Pulpit Search Update

The pulpit search team has received several new
candidates in the last month. We have been blessed to
review several very good candidates. Keep in mind, the
candidate must also be prepared to make a move...to
Payson. Continue to pray for Mountain Bible Church and the
search team, but please remember to pray for the man that God is
preparing to be our lead pastor.

Join us for NATIONAL DAY OF
PRAYER- May 7, 2009 observance 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.in MBC Bldg. C.
This is open for the entire community's
participation. This is an opportunity to join other Christians who
will gather around the country to pray for our national, state and
local government leaders, and our schools. Prayer is powerful,
so come be a part of something BIG as we pray for our leaders!

Fight competition
The shopkeeper was dismayed when a brand new business much like his
own opened up next door and erected a huge sign which read BEST
DEALS.
He was horrified when another competitor opened up on his right, and
announced its arrival with an even larger sign, reading LOWEST
PRICES.
The shopkeeper was panicked, until he got an idea. He put the biggest
sign of all over his own shop-it read... Main entrance.

Easter Service Next Sunday @ MBC
For many years we
have done a combined service at the High School on Easter
morning, but due to budget issues and so many changes in the
staff we have decided to just stay on our own campus this year.

Cardinals  Chaplain
is coming to Payson Men's Breakfast!!!
On April 17th the
Arizona Cardinals chaplain, Chad Johnson, is coming to
Mountain Bible. The breakfast starts at 6:15 in building
A. This is a chance for you to invite a neighbor or a friend to
hear the Superbowl Cardinals chaplain, speak about their
incredible run this season and hear what God is doing on the
team. Don't miss this breakfast!!!! Give ticket below
to a football crazed neighbor and son.

Exciting News!!!
The MBC Children's
Ministry has a new face:
April Adventure Land "Guides of the Month" are a
Father/Daughter duo. Along with being the MBC Deacon Chairman,
an active member of the MBC Worship Team, and the Adventure Land
Worship Leader, Rockin' Dave Yoder and his daughter Jen are a great
team!!!! It is a true blessing watching this father and
daughter serve together. They teach 2nd & 3rd
graders. Teaching is their focus, but Dave & Jen make
learning fun! If you are interested in serving in MBC's
Adventure Land, contact Mark 978-0677.
Monday Night Kid's Club is back after Spring Break. We had 40
kids last Monday. This is a great outreach opportunity.
We have about a 15 to 20 minute Bible Study, then it is all Fun and
Games! Monday nights from 6:00 to 7:15, 1st Thru 5th Graders.
Keep your eyes peeled for the MBC's Adventure Land Family Camp Out,
coming this summer!!!!!!!!!

Women's Ministry
New
"G.A.L.S." Group For Single Women
A NEW group is forming for the single woman...widowed, divorced or
otherwise single. If that describes your situation, read
on. "G.A.L.S." stands for "God's Amazing Love
Sustains". The focus of this group is friendship and
wholesome social activity, along with some "girl time" fun
and laughter. The next gathering of the group will be May 1st
at 6 p.m. Call Arlene Potter for the location and to RSVP at
474-4938 or 951-3778 (cell).
Join the
"RELAY FOR LIFE" MOUNTAIN BIBLE TEAM
Mountain Bible is participating in the American Cancer
Society Relay for Life event on June 5th and 6th. The event
begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone from MBC will be walking
(running, skipping, hopping, etc. your choiceJ) around the PHS track
continuously until 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Sign up
the whole family...this event is for EVERYONE, young and
old. You could bring your tent and spend the night with us...it
will be a blast! To sign up for a time slot, or get your
questions answered, contact Penny DeGroot at the church
office472-7800 or by email at penny@mountainbible.org.
Sign-up will also be available at the Women's Ministrytable in late
April.
HUGE THANKS!! April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and
Women's Ministry wouldn't happen without the wonderful women
volunteers who make everything work throughout the year...from those
who volunteer in hospitality, in Bible studies, in events, meals for
shut-ins and a multitude of other times. We appreciate each one
of you...it would take the whole newsletter to list you individually
but WE know who you are...you're the BEST!
THANK YOU, DEACONS! We love our
MBC Deacons! You serve in so many ways that have a great
positive impact on our Women's Ministry. We are deeply grateful
for all you do for us and for MBC!

Youth Ministries
 1) As you know, our high school mission trip was a
huge success and God really did some amazing things there. Please be
praying for our youth group to find different ways we can support
Immanuel Mission.
2) April 19th from 4-6pm, we are having the Silver Ring Thing at the
High School Auditorium. This is an event to teach our Junior High and
High School students about being pure.
3) May 3rd from noon to 2:00pm is our Burger Bash which is held at
Rumsey Park at the big ramada. This is where the students prepare
and serve the food to the Mountain Bible Church body. Everybody
is invited!!!

Thank You for your cards!!!
I would like to say
thank you for taking time to send a card to the American
soldiers. I do appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I
love our country and the American people, so it is nice to be
recognized for the sacrifice we make. Afghanistan is the last
place in the world I thought I would ever be. I am located in
Bagram which is in the northeast part of the country. It is
arid, desert like land. Although, we have a good view of the
mountain ranges. The mountains are snow capped and looked
absolutely beautiful. Fortunately for me, I work in the medical
field, I am not fighting the fight as those who do, I can take in the
view. I look forward to returning home to be with my family,
only 7 months to go. It touches my heart to know good people
like yourselves take the time to express thank you. It really does
help boost our morale. I know you probably weren't expecting a return
letter, but I just wanted to let you know we appreciate you.
